Biography of Michael StewartMr. Stewart is licensed to practice law in both Florida and New York, and is a member of the Supreme Court of the State of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the Supreme Court of the State of New York, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York First Judicial Department, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Mr. Stewart received his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and his law degree from California Western School of Law, where he was an associate justice in the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
While living in New York, Mr. Stewart practiced corporate and intellectual property law. He represented large companies in trademark matters, such as ALCOA, DC COMICS, HUGHES ELECTRONICS, IBM, and celebrity figures such as BON JOVI and the Estate of ALBERT EINSTEIN.
He was also involved in representing business and trademark interests in the creation of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the body appointed to regulate the Internet. He has also written extensively on the evolving laws concerning domain names and trademarks.
Mr. Stewart now lives in Miami, though he still has clients around the United States, Mexico and in Europe. His practice has expanded to include such areas as criminal law, personal injury, family law, immigration, and real estate.
